I’m a motion designer, illustrator and enthusiast storyteller.

Professionally, I have been in motion design for over six years now, and presently I work at King, where we create animated marketing content for the game titles and socials. My software of preference is After Effects, but I’m always interested in learning more techniques to append to my toolbox. Last year, for example, I learned Blender and already used it in professional works.

Although my regular job is in motion graphics and high-end commercial output, I’ve always kept my love for hand drawn animation. My formal education is in Design and Animation (2016), where the focus was on traditional frame-by-frame. Recently, I have been creating small character animations for my D&D group - rough, loose loops in which I get to experiment with expressive movement and personality. Informal as they are, these pieces have rekindled my interest in hand-drawn work and in doing so, reminded me how much I enjoy doing it.

Aside from animation, I’m a passionate illustrator and character designer, frequently assisting friends in bringing their D&D creations to life. I live for learning and venturing off into fresh creative ground - whether that’s acquiring new software, exploring different visual aesthetics, or delving into passion projects for pure enjoyment.

King

Over the past three years, I’ve been working in the marketing department of King, creating video content for their game titles and social media such as for Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Farm Heroes Sage and their newest release Candy Crush Solitaire.

My work ranges from character animation to more experimental motion graphics. I have had the opportunity to work with their existing characters, bringing them to life for their seasonal trailers using After Effects and Blender.

I have also had the pleasure of creating the Candy Crush Soda Saga music album art, after experimenting with 3D modelling and material creation. (Image on the right)

King’s Marketing Studio showreel, edited by me. I reworked and adapted content created across the studio (including my own) into a cohesive, energetic and dynamic showcase.

The videos above belong to King. They were all storyboarded and animated by myself with the help of a team of very talented graphic designers.

Ever since I’ve started playing Dungeon’s and Dragons with friends, It has become a heavy motivator for me to make art during my free time.

Here you will find a couple of bits and bobs I’ve created, mostly for fun - which means unfinished and chaotic work which I thought would be fun to include.

On the right is a storyboard I’ve put together for my party. It’s just a little fun thing I did on a whim with the plan of animating it one day.

Here I have compiled a couple of projects I’ve worked on in the past as well as some Illustration works I’d love to share with you.

Maisey and the Wishing Well

I’ve had the pleasure of working on the illustrations, character concepts and overall look of Maisey and the Wishing Well, a book written by the Welsh author Simon Mackay. To be published in the future.

Xisto

I’ve always wanted to develop my own game, and that’s what Xisto is. I’ve been slowly learning how to concept art for my own video game and learn how to bring it to life in 3D. This passion project is still in early stages of development.

“I’m Ok”

Now, I know it’s not recommended that I share such old outdated work, however, this video played a big part on my start in the world of animation. I made this short film at the end of my university years when I was still very new to frame-by-frame hand drawn animation.
